Dying in acute care – past, present and future? An international view

Peter Saul er leder af og overlæge på intensiv afdeling ved John Hunter Hospital i Newcastle, Australien. Peter Saul er rådgiver i etiske spørgsmål ved sundhedsministeriet gennem et klinisk etisk rådgivningspanel. Han har lavet de aktuelle retningslinier for ” end of life care ” og ” advance care planning ”.
Interessefelt og aktuel forskning i etiske forhold i sundhedsvæsenet og det at afslutte sit liv i skadestuen eller præhospitalt.

“My current research is on using the internet to communicate with patients (and the ambulance service, primary care and acute care hospitals) about their own perceptions of their health and their wishes for treatment. I am also working with recent immigrant groups on how people from different countries make end of life decisions, and how quickly they adapt to the “western” ideas.”
